The SD Series is an extension of ZOOK’s impervious graphite rupture disk design, engineered specifically for pressure protection in sanitary piping systems. Where pharmaceutical processes involve highly corrosive media that challenge traditional metal rupture disks, the SD Series provides a reliable, chemically resistant alternative that installs directly into Tri-Clamp and Tri-Clover sanitary fittings (extra thickness clamp required, available from ZOOK).
The FEP-lined graphite construction resists product buildup and is FDA compliant when the FEP liner is attached, making it suitable for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and food processing applications. The SD delivers full bore opening upon rupture, ensuring rapid and complete pressure relief. With a standard operating ratio of 90%, 0% manufacturing range, and self-supporting vacuum resistance at set pressures of 25 psig or higher, the SD Series provides dependable performance in liquid, gas, and two-phase pharmaceutical service.
